How to make a countdown
- Type a name for your event (optional).
- Pick the date, and the time if it matters. The default is midnight at the start of that day, in your local time zone.
- Watch the days, hours, minutes and seconds tick down. Use Copy link to send it to friends — the link contains the name and date, so it opens the same countdown on any device.
Good to know
- The countdown uses your device’s clock and time zone. Someone in another time zone sees the same date and time in their local time.
- It keeps counting accurately even if the tab is in the background.
- Your last countdown is remembered on this device. Want the number of days between two dates instead? Use the date calculator.

Does it count weekends and holidays?
It counts every calendar day. To count working days only, use the date calculator.
What happens when the date arrives?
The page shows that the day has arrived. Dates in the past show how many days ago the event was.
