The “already called on” problem
Pure random picking feels unfair: one student is chosen four times while another is skipped for a week. This picker keeps a round: every student present is called once before anyone is called again. When the round is finished, a new one starts automatically (or press “Start a new round” whenever you like).
How to use it
- Type or paste your class list — one name per line. It is saved on this device.
- Click a name to mark a student absent; absent students are skipped until you click them again.
- Press Pick next student. Use “How many” to pick pairs or a small panel.
- Set Think time to give everyone a few quiet seconds after the question and before the answer — it shows a countdown under the name.
- Use Make groups for fair random groups, by number of groups or by group size.
Good to know
- Keep several classes and switch between them — each remembers its own round and history.
- Press Undo if you picked the wrong moment; the student goes back into the pool.
- Full screen is made for a projector or smart board.
- Want a wheel instead? Try the spin the wheel (it can remove each winner after a spin).

Questions, answered
Will the same student be picked twice?
Not within a round. Everyone present is called once before a new round begins. Tick “Allow repeats” if you want pure random.
What happens when everyone has been picked?
A new round starts automatically and everyone is eligible again. You can also press “Start a new round” at any time.
Are student names uploaded?
No. They stay in your browser on this device.
Can I pick several students at once?
Yes. Change “How many” — each student is still picked only once per round.
Does it work on a smart board or projector?
Yes. Use the Full screen button for a large name display.
